Max 150 miles a day
So that's 600 miles max?
Which works out at £2.67/mile hire lol

I would spend half on a proper full day racing car package. But if no interest rent the car.

If I had say, 100k in the bank, yes. But as this is only going to involve a lottery win, no. And that is a stupidly high price anyway. You could put that money towards a deposit on something interesting and longer term. Other view point is that if you'd consider spending that amount on a holiday, why not?! Bet this has helped loads.

If I was bored, had no mortgage and was accumulating savings despite my best efforts I'd look at one of the supercar clubs, but as a one off spunking cash on a weekend hire car seems daft. I'd rather get an R400 on a track for a couple of days.

If you go for it check there's no mileage limit / excess

Photo any damage on the car when you pick it up, photo the car in minute detail when you hand it back so that they can not charge you for mythical damage (at least one supercar hire place was doing this in the past)

My friend and I are planning this for next summer, only a Gallardo Spyder instead. We'd go for just a weekday to keep the cost down though! Most of these places charge £3/mile after the first 100...we'd want treble that!

I think whether it's worth it or not depends on your situation. If you've had to scrimp and save and/or have literally no hope of ever owning such a car then I think it could feel a bit of a hollow experience overall. On the other hand if you have a plan to one day own such a thing (even if it's 10+ years from now) I think it could be a great "taster" of things to come and really serve as motivation to work hard and better oneself. All IMO.

No. £1600 is a lot for 600 miles in a Ferrari, and the damage excess of £3500 is a tasty morsel the hire company will likely do anything to hold on to.

For £1600, you could you the DAS course, have way more fun and have a lot left over to spare, so if you're looking to spend money on a toy, do it there.

Obviously having just blown £1,600 of the savings pot it would then be 11+ years.
