It seems to be a popular comment in GG that one comes forward and proudly states that their pal's father has/had a particular car, and often it's hiding a sentiment that they believe the friend's dad is ultimately cooler than their own.
So what car did/does your friend's dad have?

My first boss had one of those, when I got my rover 216 it left it for dead. I think it might have been broken though, very unreactive auto.
My best mates dad always had the current shape 5 series. E34 to e39 to e60 and now probably an f10. I'm not sure because my mate lives in Bermuda now!
But they got a z m coupe in silver, which was pretty damn cool. They wanted a z1 but couldn't justify the cost, he even has the plate acz 1 on his 5 series in the hope of having a z1 someday

Mate of my mine's dad has a selection of Holden Maloos and a VXR8...all of them tuned by Walkinshaw for good measure. Their driveway is by far the coolest on the street!!!
Back when I was a primary school kid the mk2 Scirocco driven by my mates dad who always wore Avaitors and looked like an extra from Top Gun was rather cool.

I never expereinced a "my friends dad" situation, as it was normally my dad with the nice cars, not the other kids.
Although, there was one kid who got dropped off to school in a Veyron in year 11, his dad was a multimillionaire, as you'd imagine.
For his 17th, the kid was bought a brand new Mk2 Focus ST (imagine the insurance on that), for his 18th a brand new top spec X5 and for his 19th his dad bought him a nightclub. The club was 'Mansion', in Southend IIRC.
I saw him recently in a 335 convertible and apparently he was offered a role in TOWIE - which I guess is karma for being so spoilt!

My other friend's Dad has a Scorpio. First person we knew with a car phone. A proper, corded, in the armrest old school car phone.
