Subaru WRX STI Gymkhana: Time For Tea?

Remember the BRZ owner who needed milk? Now he has a WRX STI and is out of bread...

It was the start of 2013 when we discovered Subaru Espana's superbly sideways promo vid for the BRZ. Now with the WRX STI on sale and Britain stringent advertising regs still in place, we must again turn to Spain for some creative marketing.

Our Subaru fan is a rather forgetful chap, isn't he? Clearly having not learnt from the coffee snafu, he's now forgotten the bread for his rather beautiful lady's breakfast. Plonker.

Dan suggested the BRZ vid could be a little snappier and Subaru Spain appears to have taken that on board; the WRX ad is 2:37 rather than 3:45 in length. But we still have much powersliding both on and off road, some gratuitous girlfriend-in-pyjamas shots and a healthy dose of stereotyping (old farmer with stick has been replaced with baguette-wielding baker in a big hat). Jolly good.

In fact the only way this latest Gymkhana video could be improved is with some gold wheels on that WRX. We look forward to the next installment Subaru.

Gratuitious is the word. A very nice bottom in short pyjamas, a drifting WRX STI and shots of wind turbines keeps everybody happy.

Don't even joke!

How are brands like Jag or Subaru supposed to survive if they can't show their products being enjoyed?
The ASA is slowly killing the UK automotive industry.

I think it could be improved with a bit of car noise, but I understand that is probably impossible due to the super strict noise emissions regs that mean Imprezas come out of the showroom sounding like whimpering puppies and need an exhaust upgrade to sound like snarling dogs.

I'm trying my very best not to place an order down for one of these. It's been a monumental struggle so far. Then comes this vid, just to make it harder! My BRZ is going in for a service on Monday and every time I'm at the dealer, I'm urged to 'come in for a chat' about the very nice STI out front!

Couldn't help thinking blue Subaru, gravel track...I remember those days. Grow some balls Subaru, stick on some 555 stickers, gold wheels and go rally the damn thing properly. Remind us why we used to actually watch rallying

Saw one at my local dealer on Wednesday when I took the hatch for a service, very nice car but I can't see me parting with my STI Hatch for one, performance wise, there's little difference. But it looks awesome up close! No point in asking for a test drive either, my local dealer are a bit against test drives unless you're definitely going to buy the car, even if Subaru invite you for a test drive.

Oh and THAT is not gymkhana, it's rally driving or at the least just hooning.
