I'm not able to watch the video with sound on my current PC but I can imagine with a loud bang at moment of impact that it certainly adds to the effect.

Yeah it's just a normal car journey then tyre screeching, ending with the crash, it's so simple yet effective

Natural reaction when they hear their phone go off. Play the default iPhone text message tone in a packed cinema and see how many phones come out of pockets.
