One of the things I like about browsing through old car mags is finding little "scoop" stories that I'd completely forgotten about. So here's one of the early predictions of what Porsche were going to build for Audi, and from what I've heard the RS2 coupe became an Avant due to fear of competition for Porsche's own 968 & 993s at the time

However, a 100-based RS4 V8, now that might have given the M5 and Lotus Carlton something to think about

Saying that, there was a post on here some time ago, where someone was boasting about an Audi model that had a load of PO parts fitted, I believe it was an approved, but limited addition build by Audi/PO.

Not sure it would have the same impact these days, and probably wouldn't happen anyway now that the RS brand is up and running, and with Porsche having their own saloon car now too
