new car

Going to replace my jeep hemi v8 with something but want a few ideas including some ownership advice if possible please. Needs to have 5 seats, be able to tow if needed, mpg 30+, slightly sporty and not slow able to take a child seat as baby on the way in a few months, decent boot not older than 2008 and budget is roughly £10k

Open to any and all suggestions

Do you mean trailer + car = 1500kg, or 1500kg car + 800kg trailer?

With the former you could pick up a nice 5 series diesel which will tick all the boxes.

With the latter you need a 2300kg tow capacity - I'd be looking at an X5.

i mean a car weighing up to 1500 kg on top of the trailer. have been looking at X5's, Touareg's, trouble is the mpg on the Touareg not looking that great factor in towing and it will be as bad as my jeep.

I don't think your budget is going to allow for an X5 2008 or newer. Its a pretty tall order from any brand if you want it to be sporty , fast and efficient.

Perhaps a van to do the towing and leave £6k for a decent motor with fewer requirements.

The budget can be stretched to 15k if this means getting most of my list with a little more comforts. I like my jeep bit its too thirsty and lacks a few touches. No aux port so no ipod playing on long travels, the seats feel as if they were designed for morbidly obese Americans. The sat nav is pants, and speakers are lacking.

Two nice motors above for him , but they can't do the towing needed. Same thing ruled out my forester suggestion. It will have to be full sized 4x4 for the towing weight wont it ?
