Any time you've bought a hot hatch, has it been because you needed some practicality and/or sensible running costs? Or have you still chosen one even if these factors weren't an issue?
It's always a consideration, sure. I guess a more accurate way to think of it is the *potential* for expense. I would consider a hot hatch fairly low risk in terms of giving you an expensive smack.
