BMW KEYS STOLEN - but did not take the car?!? (Help)

Good morning Gents
I woke up this morning to find the front door open and my belongings all over the street (Coats, bags etc).
The only things they have stolen is my Cigarettes and my car keys, to my knowledge.(my two most cherished items)!!!
The car is a very late e39 525ia sport.
Obviously i'm pissed off, but is there anything I can do in the mean time until locks or what ever are changed? I have thought about taking the battery out every night. Is there anything else in the mean time?
I'm concerned that my insurance will not pay out as the car hasn't been stolen, and I cant see anywhere on the policy that said it would pay out in this instance (admiral group).
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any idea of cost? I'm fairly savvy with mechanical aspects, but electrics and locks are not my thing.
Ps - Someone else down the road has been done by the same people, assuming after their 1 series coupes?

Removing the battery is a good idea, but since they have the key they have easy access to the boot and could easily pop one back in if they came on consecutive nights and were fairly clever.
I suggest removing the steering wheel also. It's just two torx screws behind the wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. Once you take these out, the airbag is loose and there's one large nut that will need to come off to take the whole wheel out. Even if they managed to put a battery in, the car isn't going anywhere and it wont cost you anything unlike a disklock.
Literally a 2 minute job, done it plenty of times on my E39.

Take two BMW keys but leave the cars?
Maybe they just want spare BMW keys to program to more valuable models
In case you missed this somehow, it's laughably easy to program new keys once you've got physical access and certain models can be physically accessed without setting off the alarm, albeit with some physical damage.
As they can program keys rather easily, they could always re-program the key if you did get it un-programmed, they could still unlock the car.
I'd be inclined to remove the coil packs, or just the HTs if you're lazy. I think compared to a battery it'd take em longer to diagnose that and find spares, but relatively easy to pop out.
They may still open it up and put it in neutral and push though, get it a few miles, and probably damage it in the process, you'd be surprised the lengths these s**ts will go to just to ruin your day. They might even, on finding it won't move, just smash it up out of spite.
