Bought private reg 10 weeks ago but still no docs received

Not sure if I've posted this in the correct section of the forums but here goes.
So I had been saving up some money with the interest of buying a private number plate. One I quite liked was advertised on Regtransfers so I purchased it in the first week of May this year.
I waited around 10 days for the documents to arrive in the post but nothing turned up. I then received a phone call from one of the Regtransfers representatives telling me they have been unable to contact the owner of the numberplate and they asked whether I would like a refund, a different plate or to just wait and see a few more weeks if they were able to contact the seller (it's possible they were on holiday at the time). As I was quite certain I wanted the plate I thought it would make sense to wait a few more weeks.
Towards the end of May I was left a voicemail and email saying I need to call Regtransfers, so I did that and the person dealing with my request told me they had been able to contact the seller and that they were sending in their plate ownership paperwork in due course. I received a confirmation email saying the money had been taken from my account and was non refundable. The representative also told me I had to send in my V5 and other required documents to them for immediate transfer of the plate. I sent my docs off and received a confirmation email and text a few days later informing me that the V5 and other documents had been received. At this point I was quite confident that it was all sorted and I almost went out and had the acrylic plates made up.
I then waited a couple of weeks but nothing turned up in the post. So I decided to give them a call but the person that had been dealing with my request was away on holiday and that they would get her to ring me when she is back. Towards the end of June I was on holiday but when I got back I had been left with a voicemail saying that the owner of the plate is having difficulty finding the paperwork and that they would inform me when they have received it.
Now it is almost the end of July and Regtransfers haven't bothered to contact me again and I am wondering what I should do (apart from the obvous give which is to give them a call!). I would like to know if anybody else has had similar experiences or what they'd do in a similar situation (should I request to speak to a manager?). I am really disappointed with the way such a large company is treating its customers, to me it seems once they have your money they don't care.

I bought a new car in April and part ex'ed my old car with private plate on. Dealer sorted out everything but the DVLA only provided me with the new V5 and Tax on Monday this week. Fortunatly the garage offered to register my car and I got it 1 week after ordering. Shame I had to drive it around with the normal plate for a bit but hey got it now.
It sound like they are talking utter bulls
t. I had a number plate which I bought at auction and was advertised on a major plate seller's website for 3 months after I bought it. I had never offered it for sale and it took 3 or 4 complaints before they took it down.
It sounds like they've offered up a plate for sale that they don't actually have and then someone in their sales team has pushed through the sale without all the docs to meet their sales target or get commission.
I would be livid with them and demanding my money back in full within 7 days or you will be launching a small claims court action against them.
If this reg was actually for sale with them then a professional company would have dealt with this transaction within 14 business days. This is just a pisstake.
