MX5 Tyre Suggestions

SWMBO is clearly quite light on tyres but her MX5 is coming up to 5 years old & has done 35k miles on its (original) Yokohama tyres. They still have a fair bit of tread but at that age l think they are due replacing.

What is the consensus on the best replacement?

Put Michelin Pilot Sports on mine. Very controllable, no sudden snap oversteer, you always got plenty of warning when the back end started to break away.

Michelin PS are great. Not cheap, but great. You get what you pay for.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 3 are one of the leading performance tyres as other have said. Cost is the issue with them but they are really very good.

I wouldn’t rule out of some of the new Yokohama performance tyres either. Yokohama is making some excellent performance products at the moment.

Kumho also has some good performance tyres for a cheaper price.

I had Falken Ziex ZX912 or whatever the model number is.

But that was on some piiimped 16" Enkeis.

Thanks guys. Majority seem to favour Michelin PS3's so l've gone with those.

Local firm quoted a smidge under £99 fitted.
