MK2 Golf 3 slat from grill

Hi everyone

Ive got a VW mk2 golf front grill single headlights with 3 slats does anyone know how much this is worth? i think they were on the later Mk2s? but I cannot find any other around to look for a price.

Early models were 5 slat, late models are 7 slat. Never heard of a 3? Picture please

Mk2 Golf grills tend to go for around £30 if they are in good condition, i.e. no broken clips. Rally and various hard to find aftermarket grills usually fetch a bit more.

^ Aftermarket grills are cheap for a reason. They normally don't line up or fit properly first time. OEM is always worth more because it will fit straight on no fuss.

OP, presume you mean like this (all be it a Jetta grill )


As LOWLIFE pointed out there are early pre 1987 7 slat grills and later 88> 5 slat grills. Base models had black surrounds, GL got chrome stripes and GTI got red stripe, very rare G60 Limited got Blue.

The picture above shows a generic 5 bar grill with a Kamei spoiler on top which is covering the top slat.

if you want a genuine 3 SLAT badgeless grill then SWG do this (which also has a eyebrow spoiler on top which is separate to the grill)
