We have a 2007 one of these in estate version. Great car, 40 mpg on a run, likes to rev a bit though in top gear, could do with a 6 th gear do bring the revs down a bit, can get a bit tiring I guess if all you are doing is motorway miles.

Don't rule one out but a 3 series with a 6 pot motor would be a much better on the motorway.

I've a last of the line 2008 tourer with the 2.4 lump and an auto box. I've got it LPG converted so it's running equivalent of 48mpg in a derv. Probably hitting low 30's in real terms.

Mine is an EX spec, so it's got nav, heated electric leather, cruise and all manor of other ste.

Great car to cruise long distance in. The auto is 5sp and could also benefit from a 6th cog as it is a bit revvy. I cover 30k+ miles a year and I find I hop out fresh as a daisy wherever the days work takes me.

Having had a bmw before it, the best thing about this is it just works. I got out to it of a morning, any weather and I know it will start. It will get me there and home again. No airs, no graces, no fuss and no 'imagine'.

It's boring but competent in every way.
