Woops! Who's stopped at a pub after work, had an unplanned few, left the car at the pub car park, taxied it home in a very roomy and comfy Skoda Superb, gone to sleep, woke up, had a nice lazy morning, finished lunch, decided to go out into town in the afternoon, walked out of the house, found the drive empty and in that moment of shock before it all comes together uttered the words of the thread title?

Tis a bugger tis it not?

While not having thought it was stolen, my personal record is 3 days between a session and finding where I left the car.

I normally end up gaining cars when I've been drinking. Bloody Ebay!

I parked my car in a different street to usual once, left it for a couple of weeks, and completely forgot where I parked it. Took me am hour wandering nearby roads before I found it again.

I have a driveway now, so that will never happen again.

Back in the 70s there was an old soak who used to tour pubs with his car. He came into the local one day and asked if any of us had seen his car. Given that he would visit any number of pubs in the area, we thought that he had perhaps got pissed and left his car at one of them.

So a few of us jumped into the car and took him round all his local haunts. Didn't find the car, but he invited us back to his house for a coffee (pubs were shut by then - old afternoon licensing laws). As we were going into the house, one of the guys opened his garage door, and lo and behold, there was his car.

The old soak was dumbfounded as he never put his car in the garage as it was too tight for him to achieve! Well he obviously managed it when pissed to the extent of memory loss!!

Drove to a friend's house on one occasion, he only lives a couple of roads over but I had a few things to take round there for him. Stayed for a bit watching F1 highlights (no drinks), then walked home again.

If you noticed what was wrong with that sentence you did better than me on that day. Later on I went out to the driveway to get in the car and go to the shops, and ended up standing there dumbfounded for a bit.

Eventually it clicked. Rang my friend, asked him if he could stick his head out the window and have a look down the road and sure enough, my car was still sat there parked up...

This happened to me a while back, we had a nice new 3 series and an older Astra just as a second car, we only used it a couple if times a week.

We were going out on a Saturday night and it was raining so we went in the car and left it to get a cab back.

Anyway the following Thursday the mrs needed to use it, could we fk remember where we'd left it at first we thought it'd been stolen then remembered leaving it somewhere at the weekend. If course we'd come home pissed and completely forgotten, it took us nearly 2 hours to find.

It was on the kerb outside the railway station, no idea why, don't remember getting a train or anything!

5 days it was missing and we didn't even notice!

confused

Bloke I used to work with once stood in his kitchen with a pile of shopping and told his daughter 'I'm sure i've forgotton something'

Her reply was along the lines of 'Your car you senile old fart, it's still parked outside Sainsburys'

I usually walk or run to the gym, unfortunately more than once I've driven to the gym and walked back out of habit, only to realise when I need the car next.

I was blatting along a local B road a few days ago with something gnawing at me, but I couldn't say what it was. Onto the motorway, pushing on and it all felt so wrong, then it finally dawned on me, I'd forgotten the car. Talk about embarrassed.

There are stories about big time rock stars (Jagger, etc.) forgetting about cars they parked in foreign cities. Those fancy motors remaining down some side street for years on end.

A bloke I knew decided to go to the Chinese takeaway a few streets away while pissed. Went on his bike, walked home. A short while later realised his bike wasn't parked outside, rang the police and reported it stolen. Police passed the bike outside the Chinese on the way to see him, breathalysed him and he got a nice ban for being a cock.

one of the lads on SXOC - had his car 'stolen' for 2 weeks - until it was found by the police exactly where he had left it. And he hadn't been drinking.

.................he had some ribbing after that.
