Hi all,

Posting this on behalf of a friend, He has only just recently bought the car from Ford Main Dealer in Chelmsford, Was parked on the First floor of Lakeside car park today Saturday 3rd August, within 1 hour and 30 minutes the car is gone, no glass on the floor, no sign of any break in. Police have had no luck on ANPR and have no trace of the car so far.

Number Plate - EK59HJY
Car is a Facelift, 5 Door, Seagrey, Standard with no racing strips.

If anyone sees it around can you call the police.

I was parked there on Sat too! Must be CCTV on entry/exit surely?

Although wouldn't surprise if not, Lakeside is such a dump these days.

Well out of all of the multi story car parks in the shopping center, the one he parked out didn't actually have CCTV even though there was signs.

unless its in the 3.14key camp by the crossing that the old escort was tracked to a few weeks back?

I was surprised the Dealer didn't mention anything at the time, As i was there when my friend purchased the car, I am going to call the dealer tomorrow, It's just not on that you spend 10k on a car and have 5 years Ford Warranty and in less than a month the car gets taken within an hour and a half time frame, Most likely the OBD key generator route as the car did have Keyless start/ Entry.

I knew about the BMW issues a long time ago and now that all got fixed, I just assumed buying from a main dealer the car would be fully updated and new firmware would have been installed or the OBD port deactivated.

Now my friend has to wait for the insurance without a car and he will be losing hes no claims bonus plus having to pay a excess, the whole thing is just a joke really.

For future reference it looks like having an actual key is the way forward and a disclock which many of you are suggesting, it also seems a regular thing on the Focus RS forum.

Where abouts is that place?

Police pretty much said that if they dont find the car within the hour then there is very little chance it will ever be recovered.
