Estates - load space width?

Hi Guys,

I am back on the trail of a new (used) estate. The biggest issue I have is the usable width of the boot. I used to have a volvo estate and it was sufficiently wide that we could roll a 200L drum into it, when the situation required. There was no issue with it rolling between the wheels and plenty of room to spare. My current vehicle is a skoda superb - class leading space but rubbish width. No chance of the same width fitting in because it could be 15cm or more narrower between the wheels.

Anyhow, the information I want it the width between the wheels - is this listed anywhere? At the moment, I am looking at BMW 5 series touring, E Class and V70 (budgeting about 10k).

My 9-5 estate was good. Whilst there was an indent of the wheels in the boot, it didn't hinder larger loads too much.

Citroen C5 has a massive estate boot, both wide and long.




But it IS a Citroen.
