Bugatti plans new 286mph, 1479bhp Veyron successor for 2016
A heavily updated 8ltr W16 engine incorporating hybrid technology
Target is the fastest top speed of any series production road car together with the drivability to allow you to use it every day - official statement.
Early test mules already exist
Economy will drastically increase from the Super sports 12.2mpg hybrid and direct injection to name but a few changes driving that improvement.
Likely electric turbo chargers to address the "lack of low end torque" ....
Weight will be well below the Super sports 1840kg
0-62mph 2.3 seconds and 286mph are the targets.
Limited to 450 production units.
Just when you thought the SS was the most extreme possible and we would never again see mega high speed vehicles Bugatti come out and will demolish the record set by the SS - great to see the engineers and brand really pushing the envelope and not just small kit car producers.
