Choice of 3 cars, deprecitaion?23

My PCP is coming to an end on my Discovery 4 so I have to take some action.
Obviously being Pistonheads this gives me the chance to perhaps change cars.

At the moment I have been bid up to £30k by dealers for the Disco (Disco 4 XS 7 seats with the new gearbox and engine 41k miles 61 plate)

My final payment on the finance would be @£20k leaving me in a £30k car.

My two other options at the moment are

13 plate BMW 330d Msport Touring with 12k miles for £33k
or
13 plate Mercedes E350 CDI for about the same money.

The question is which of these three will hold it's value best over the next 3 years?

I will be paying cash for the next one,

so stick £20k into the Disco or £23k into either of the others?

Discovery (as well as other LR products) residuals are very strong at the moment. If you want something that won't depreciate, then I would probably keep that.

It didn't! There are two variants of the Disco 4, the earlier one had a less powerful engine and 7 speed box, the facelift has the 8 speed box and uprated engine.

I was thinking the Disco as well, but enjoyed the BMW and the Merc I tested today.

Also was given a Jag XF as a courtesy car, it was nice, but really not me.

Ah, I see. The wording could be interpreted both ways...

Anyway, do you want the same again or an estate car for a change? If you sit in them all but still prefer the Disco then I guess thats your answer.

Isn't there a new Discovery due soon - or is that the Disco Sport model? - as that will knock the value of yours a bit when they become more common.
