3 yr old XC60 or Sportage?

Any advice on which if a better car to get? Looking to spend £14-16K on a car up to 3 yrs old and under 40k miles. Diesel, manual and will do around 12k per year..

Volvo XC60 is a 'nicer' car but will be out of warranty.

Kia Sportage has 7 years warranty but is a bit bland, also will the resale value plummet as it get to the end of the warranty period?

Discounted other similar cars as the boot is too small (qashqai for example)

Father in law had an XC-60 and it was a very nice car. You say the sportage is a bit dull! do you mean to drive or look at as I think it looks pretty good. Its not as nice inside as the Volvo, but I hear thet drive ok.

Its a bit dull inside compared to the volvo which seems a very nice place sit. Compromise is the warranty.

For my money I'd go for the XC60 everyday, just looks so much better than the rest of the SUV brigade (IMHO). And I suspect the rate of depreciation will be very much less than the newer Kia.

In typical PH fashion though, have you considered a Mazda CX-7 ? Had a 2008 petrol version until recently and was huge inside - only reason I got rid was due to the 17mpg economy. Think for the budget your looking at, you could easily get a 2012 diesel version. Happy hunting.
