I hope so I've got a set of winter tyres from my 3 series that I need to sell now I've sold my car. I'm hoping for lots of scaremongering from the Daily fail etc so that I can sell them easily.

Why not get a trailer to carry the winters. Then if it turns a bit chilly if you get caught out you can change them over. I suppose you'll need some winters for the trailer too, but doable .
Add say an hour prep for each journey then you'll always have the right ones.

Alternatively keep the normal tyres on and in the 2 Icey days drive a bit slower .

Yes! And put the most expensive ones you can. There was a hurricane last weekend, summer's finished, get those winter tyres on now! I understand it's arctic condition from September.
