Help with selling my car

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could help with the sale of my car.

Ive had 1 scammer and no one calling/emailing/enquiring about my car.

I have it listed on PH and 3 other smaller sites.

I believe ive got all the info in there and ive reduced the price (still the cheapest by far on internet)

Could someone give me some tips or advise for a quick sale? Im hoping to get rid by the weekend as my insurance runs out so its only going to be sat on the drive and means i cant get my replacement.

Part ex is a last ditch.

Sold 4 cars through Pistonheads over the years and I live way down in Cornwall, a fella flew down from Scotland to buy my 5 series.

Do you have decent photographs and clear, to the point, text?

Try not to sound too desperate in the advert, rings alarm bells with some potential buyers.

yes i have good pictures and listed everything. put fresh 12 months mot on aswell.

Difficult cars to sell.. quite thirsty engines considering average performance.

Had a face lifted 05' ST220 in performance blue with full electric recaro and 6 speed box, loved it!

Cars like that seem difficult to shift these days. My dad had a long wait to try and sell his Saab 9-5 2.3t, eventually part exchanged it for something else. It seems people are either going for all out performance cars, or economical runarounds, with not much interest in anything inbetween.

Our car was on a 2005 '05' think was about £250ish/year?

Ebay classified ad with best offer function. It's the cheapest way of selling on ebay and probably get you one of the biggest audiences.

I had my car listed on PH, gumtree, carandclassic and preloved. Couple of usual emails but no viewings. Sold within 48hrs of going on ebay to a reasonable offer

Yeah, Part ex is the last move where by i wont get hardly anything from it. Id of thought someone might of wanted mineconsidering the low mileage on it compared to everything else.

I seen the same car as yours and priced the same as yours sell a few days ago but with only 43k on the clock.
They do seem to be hard to shift on if they don't have any stand out points.

There is a page on Facebook. Unsure if you are on it but the group has over 2000 members. You might want to advertise it on there. A Mondeo ST enthusiast group.

Assuming its the one i've just looked at, this would put me off ringing...

"small stone chips on bumper and bonet and couple of scratches. Crack on bottom of bumper. Bad bits: Has an oil leak from side of engine and a drain on the battery - fine when driven daily."

The oil leak and battery draining would personally stop me ringing. Both could cost £££'s to sort.

I'm guessing that's your add.

The pictures are good but if I was a potential buyer I would be put off by the oil leak and battery drain.

Also the descriptions should start with the important things, age, model, mileage then move onto spec.
Service intervals and bits that have been fixed over the years should be left til the end of the advert.

Really? i thought ebay was most expensive. Id also hate the prospect of people 'buying' it and not showing up

An ebay classified does not have a "buy it now" button.
