As I posted in another unrelated thread yesterday, I believe Alessandro del Piero drove an Integrale as his daily for a number of years, and I also seem to recall Christian Vieri rocked around in a classic Mini Cooper. Perhaps Italian footballers are (were) more interested in cars

Not that there's anything particularly wrong with the above list, just that with near-unlimited funds you'd think they'd come up with a few other options

Undisguised advert for a finace comapany It would be more interesting to see what all (premier league?) footballers drive rather than just those who read the PH threads saying how much cheaper it is to lease a car

Because on the way home from training, when they're knackered, a RR is a comfier/easier drive than a 458. More space for a kit bag too.

Also because, it’s unlikely to be ‘one or the other’, they will mostly have an SUV/ barge and a super car.

For the record, I've nothing at all to do with the company quoted in the article. I only posted it here for a bit of car related chat on my break from my IT job

Because, lovely as they are, a 458 is not a practical option for nipping to the shops/going to the pub/running errands/taking more than 1 person with you/etc/etc

Speaking from first hand experience, the brother in law (Prem Footballer) has always had big barge cars to commute and I've never understood it. He currently commutes in a E Class Coupe (White of course)
but here is his car list or commuters in the last 2 years alone:
BMW 645 Convertible
Jag XFR
Audi S5 Convertible
RR Vogue Overfinch
Q7


On a side note, the amount of money they earn is stupid however the lease deals they get offered are a joke. E63 Coupe for £249 a month, unreal in my books.

Along with the comfy SUV's pretty much all have a Ferrari/Mclaren/Supercar of some sort as well. There are quite a few players interested in cars. Though I do think one of the coolest car choices I've seen is Ryan Giggs' 22b Impreza.

Sorry if it came out tht way, no slur intended, it was the original press release I was commenting on I was interested in the wider picture because I often went past Walsall's training ground when that were in whatever was the next level down from the Premier League in those days. The manager had a new E class Mercedes (standard issue?), the captain and top goal-scorerhad an SL and there was an Audi TT, but most of the rest had newish hot hatches, Clio 182, Focus ST, etc. I wonder if that is still the picture outside the Manchester Uniteds and Chelseas?

Not sure I follow....why don't you understand someone choosing a big barge to commute in; isn't that exactly what they're for?

I would never of thought a premiership footballer would even need to lease a car. Surely a months wages would see them being able to buy any of the cars on your list outright.
