Cant get it out of my head

OK so a couple of weeks ago I posted about a TVR Sagaris that I was thinking of buying.
Problem was that its a Cat D repair job and I wanted it basically to buy on finance as a bit of a 'saving plan with benefits
I found out that it was well repaired but there is a potential costly issue with it but the finance company I use wont support the purchase so I dropped the idea.

I had a second idea of buying a another house and mentioned that to my Wife.
She didn't have a problem with the TVR plan but liked the house idea even more because our son is thinking of moving back to our area and it would help him to have 'cheep rent'. They have just had our first grandchild and so my wife is excited with the idea of them "coming home".

Now I cant get the blinking car out of my head
I cant really afford to do both and will definitely do the house thing.

I wish I'd never seen the Sag as it seems to have imprinted itself onto the insides of my eyelids and I cant bring myself to delete the photo'S I took

I should have posted this in 'First world problems'.

I would go for the Sag personally, you already have one house.

Buy a Tamora or a T350. Much cheaper and still give you that experience! Or even a Chimaera if you want cheap! I sold a stunning BMW Z4M to buy my house. 3 years on I have a TVR Chimaera and the house, and I wouldn’t swap either of them!!

If you're considering a Sagaris as some kind of investment, forget a Cat 'D' one as that'll seriously limit your re-sale market.

I'm very happy for Sag owners that values are so strong, but it's not worth 2.5 T350s, Tuscans or Tamoras nor is one worth 3 Cerberas or 4 Chimaeras.

Do what you want with the house (but caution your wife that your son has his own family now and may not want to revert to being mummy's boy and there will be a major powershift away from your wife to your son's other half now there's a grandchild involved so it may not be the "coming home" she expects - top tip!).

Buy a much better value for money TVR and enjoy.

I've already got a Tuscan. It was more a case of buying something where I will get my money back in the future rather than wasting it every month.
I actually went to look at a T350T but then found that was also a Cat D and then he mentioned the Sag.
Iwas itching to buy a Sag two years ago but dropped the idea.
Wish I had then because they were only about 35 to 40k then.
I sold a Chimaera last year

I found another Sag for sale in Germany and its a good price but I cant get to check it out for at least 4 more weeks.
The reason the Cat D is stuck in my head is that it has had a lot of good work done to the bodywork and looked absolutely fantastic up close.

I had similar a few years back with a F360 spider ex-CatC with what appeared to be a decent repair and drove nice OR a cheap little house in Sunderland, both around the 35k mark, cash on the hip ... went for the house as I knew the return would be circa 12k a year

Couldn't get the car out of my head till I heard a series of horror stories about the dealer, Keighley Trade Centre (or whatever it was called before the name change) which finally made me forget about it and move on ... If that hadn't happened though I probably would still be pondering the what-if.

Besides the body work what are the key differences between a Sag and a T350?

The Sag has got the 4lt speedsix while the T350 has got the 3,6lt I think.
Also I thing the Sag has got the bigger front brake discs and close ratio diff like the Tuscan S

How many TVR's have never had some kind of body repair, light, powerful and made of fibreglass, there seem to be so many damaged ones for sale on Ebay, they seem to outnumber the intact ones, so once you rule those out and the vastly, comedically overpriced ones at certain dealers, there are many left to look at.
