Reliable supplier of replacement cylinder heads (Audi A4)

I've been told by my mechanic that I need a new cylinder head for my 55 plate Audi A4 2.0 SE TDI which has done 150K miles but the price Audi quoted was pretty much what the car is worth !!!. Apparently this engine head does have a tendency to fail after high mileage and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and, if so, can they recommend a reliable supplier of quality replacement cylinder heads please ???.

I've had a few suggestions and if anyone has had a replacement cylider head from any of the following :

1. Prestige Engine Products
2. Motorcast
3. Vege

I would welcome their comments please (PM if you prefer) as I need to make a decision urgently and need all the help I can get !!!.

Any help much appreciated please as I've been off the road for quite a while now.

Stating the obvious, but these are all likely to be 'reconditioned' heads, and your old head must be provided in exchange. So, if you know what's wrong with your head, you could simply get it repaired by a local engine shop. The downside is that your car's off the road longer.

Thanks for your comments, I'm not very technical but have been told that my head is beyond repair. The people I've been in touch with so far regarding reconditioned heads have said they will take the old head in exchange REGARDLESS of condition.

It was an option that was looked into but just wasn't financially viable bearing in mind the age and value of the car.
