Windscreen replacement

Have any of you had experience with windscreen replacements by Autoglass? I might be getting mine replaced soon but a little worried about getting a tech that isnt up to par.

Also is it worth asking for OEM glass or should I go with whatever they have? My car has rain and light sensors, do these come with the new glass or is the existing parts re used and also the rear view mirror?

Who you get on the day is a bit of a lottery; chances are everything will be OK but these concerns should really have been expressed before policy inception. Who your insurer is, and what deal they have with their 'approved' repairer/supplier (and what standard of parts will be fitted to your car) is what you have agreed to when you accepted the proposal. Your rights are somewhat limited to a few factors, such as the age of the car and what, or how, the policy wording is interpreted legally.

If you're not happy to use the company you have mentioned, you can use whomever you choose. The tricky part is getting the insurer to cough up. Most are very clear in their wording and unless you have mitigating circumstances, or a genuine cause/reason for objecting to them doing the work, they've pretty much got you cornered into doing what suits them.

The glass (and associated parts) will not be genuine and not as good as genuine if they do not bear the OEM logos of the car manufacturer. There are only a few exceptions to this. More here, as well as other info which you might find useful.
