Multi-car insurance question...

So I've recently sold my Audi A3, registered in my name. While looking to replace my car we have decided to buy my wife a new car and I'll use her old 520d until I decide what I want. So I'm off to buy her a Touraeg today, but really I want to register it in her name as ultimately it will be her car. However, the 520d is registered in her name and we have a muti-car policy with Admiral. I should I proceed with this?

I don't get the problem, if you are a named driver on the policy for the relative car(s) and the policies declared owner is correct with them it doesn't matter.

We now have two cars registered in my wife's name. However I want to use the 520d going forward. But, insurance companies will assume the main driver of a car will be the registered keeper - however this will not be the case. And, can I just ensure a car I don't own... Will I loose my ncb..

Not straight forward. Anyway, we made use of 24hr cover yesterday when we picked the car up, I'll call Admeral today.

Ownership and registered keeper are not the same thing. However it's quite possible to insure a car which you are not registered keeper of. I'm inadvertently the reg keeper of my wife's car and mentioned this to her insurer - no problems. Guess it depends on the insurance co.

Most insurers will consider you and your wife to be one and the same when calculating premiums. Obviously tell them the misses is the RK but also say you're married and you'll be fine. You can still insure it in your name also.

Admiral Multicar doesn't ask who the registered keeper is so it doesn't matter.
Even if it did it wouldn't be an issue.
