Which 2 seater

This might be a topic that has been discussed at length and I apologize if my searching is inadequate.
However I was hoping for some advice, you see I have always wanted to get myself a little two seater drop top.
The problem has always been little urchins that I would have had to strap to the bonnet.
But since the little urchin is now a medium to large size one and I don't need a family car any more, I have decided to coincide with my move to London to look at getting myself a ragtop.

The problems I face are two-fold.

1.) My size, I am 197cm tall (6'6" in old parlance) and 100kg (220 pounds) thus actually being able to fit into the car would be a huge plus.

2.) I want to buy cash, and that precludes buying new.

I have a budget of £7500, less is better however more can be done if truly necessary.

Initial thoughts have been to look at getting a Z4 as ze germans should have taken larger persons into consideration.
I really like the idea of the s2000 having owned a few B16 v-tec's in my younger days.
Boxster's I am a little unsure of at this price point and I would be wary of maintenance on what would probably be quite an older car.

Appreciate any insight or experience on this.

Im 6'7 myself and driven my fair share of cars.

I dont think youll be comftable in the s2000, well I didnt fit too well.

The Z4M is a good car, as is the 3.0 Z4

I dont like the look of the softtops myself but how about a 350z or if the budget will stretch a 370z cab?

You should fit in a Z4. I have a 6'6" mate who has one and fits in fine.
S2000 will be a very tight fit, if you can get in at all. I was cramped & I'm only 6'1" (& 3/4). I'm not sure about 987 model Boxters but legroom in the 986 was just about OK for me and I would imagine anyone taller could struggle a bit.

SLK has a bit more room than its rivals. TVRs are actually very comfortable too for taller folks

Z4 / 986 Boxster / S2000 no use for me anyway (6'8), as cannot get my legs under the steering wheel and foot on the clutch pedal properly

Chimaera. Everything else will feel a bit dull by comparison. If you can stretch to a 4.5 or 5ltr then do. Try a few before you buy as condition varies wildly with each cars history.

Failing that a quick Westfield would be a hoot.

Either car are cheap to run, insure, etc with little or no depreciation.

Handy things convertibles, no matter how tall you are you've always got about 14 miles of headroom.

I'm only 6'4" and had an S2000 (with a 4 point cage, so the seat wouldn't go all the way back). It all depends where you are tall, and your driving style.

I'm long legged, but always have my knees to the side of the wheel.

The problem is the wheel isn't adjustable.

Whatever you look at, look into a bucket seat and lower seat rails, as this can give you quite a bit of room.
