Any good/bad experiences buying used Kia Sportage or Carens?

I have a 2010 Kia Sportage as part of my fleet of Company cars. It's currently on its 4th engine.
Apparently it's normal for it to use oil and it's normal for the oil warning light NOT to come on..
OK, so the idiot employee who drove it is also at fault, but it had it's first "seizure" at just 18 months old and did it twice more. Idiot employee is no longer with the company.
The car is still with us, however it's only used as a pool car now as nobody wants to be stuck with it. I don't feel I could sell it to someone as I can't be sure i'm not lumbering them with the problems.
Kia could never really figure out why it happened. They replaced 2 under warranty and my company had to pay for the 3rd.
Not saying this is normal for a Kia Sportage, just our experience of it.... Could be due to the former employee... buggered if I know how though... and yes, it was serviced by Kia at the required intervals.

Had one on hire for 3 weeks (Sportage) and it was awesome. Plenty of space for most things and you could drive it pretty much flat out and not get yourself into too much trouble. It cornered better than I thought it would and was generally fun to be in. Wasnt the most poky of cars and struggled a little at higher speeds, but on the whole I was impressed with it
