Can a Mini give big enough bills to need a warranty?
Most warranties cover only catastrophic failures as opposed to stuff which is likely to go wrong. as such I doe the same as the poster above who said set aside a fund and congratulate yourself if you don't have to use it! Or at least, spend it on the next car.

Well according to the Interweb they can! Of course, you never ever hear of the vast majority that never go wrong, only the bad ones. A bit like Dealers in a way. Most warranties cover only catastrophic failures as opposed to stuff which is likely to go wrong. as such I doe the same as the poster above who said set aside a fund and congratulate yourself if you don't have to use it! Do this.

My warranty company is my savings account. £50 a month goes in there to cover car stuff and the best part is if nothing goes wrong I get all my money back.

This is the approach I have for my mini, yes they can go wrong and generate a large bill, but will it ? Who knows. My warranty company is my savings account. £50 a month goes in there to cover car stuff and the best part is if nothing goes wrong I get all my money back.

About the only good thing to say about warranties is that you shouldn't get any surprises. The companies make loads of money from them which is why they are so keen to sell then to us.
