Anyone tried NEXEN N blue HD tires
Discussion
Ok it’s passed the time for my car inspection and I need to get some new rubber on my car ( they are over 9 years old and tread is fine/legal but has some cracks)
Now since I’m in the sticks at the moment my options are bit limited and the only tires in my cars size in stock are Nankang,Kenda or Nexen N Blue HD
Out of the lot the Nexen seem to get good reviews has anyone used these before ?

I purchased a pair of front wheels with Nexen on, I had them taken off within the week I'm afraid.
They truly ruined my car, but it's a type that is tyre sensitive.
Try Vredestien, these are very very good tyres, for not a lot of money.
As I said I have very limited options .. it's not a sport car it's just a Honda Fit/Jazz Wagon They truly ruined my car, but it's a type that is tyre sensitive.

it's the only tire shop for 30 miles that has stock of my wheel size and those are the options

Unless the tyres you had were Nexen 'N Blue HD', this post is completely irrelevant. That's like saying "All Mercedes are rubbish, I had a 'Y' reg A140 and it was completely hopeless"They truly ruined my car, but it's a type that is tyre sensitive.

Had a set of these on my Xsara work shed, they are some of the best tyres I have ever had, predictable, great wet and dry grip and last well.
I am so impressed with Nexen that my C2 that has replaced the Xsara is having some new Nexen N'Fera tyres soon to replace the dodgy chinese ones it came on.

Did it not occur to you that it was maybe the imbalance between front and rear rather than anything wrong per se with the Nexens that caused what you felt? They truly ruined my car, but it's a type that is tyre sensitive.
I'm suspecting that if your car was that 'tyre sensitive' then the same would have happened mixing even two of the most expensive tyre brands on the market.
I'm with BRGrin - there's a bit too much sanctimonious generalisation goes on with tyres regardless of make and model.

Not had the HD Blue , but currently have N8000 on the rear and Nexen N Priz 4s ( mud and snow all seasons ) on the front of our Diesel Croma. Both have lasted well and performed more than acceptably in wet and dry. They have been knocked about on our dog / caravan car for over a year and I would buy them again. If they have one weakness , the life is not as good as the more premium brands like Michelin ad good year in my experience.
When we bought the croma it had new linglongs on the front wheels and at the time I was pleased that a fairly cheap car came with new tyres on it. They were awful and dangerous in the wet. The tracking felt like it was out and the car would easily spin its wheels in second going straight. Braking was awful too.
Also I think they are OEM parts on Hyundai / Kia and I cant remember if I have seen them on a new VW / Ford too.

I've not had that model, but did have a set of N3000's (one of their top "performance" tires at the time) that a dealer fitted. Never again. Aqua-planing issues, pudding for a sidewall, and loud. In my experience Hankook is a much better value for the money.

I think Nexen have moved on in leaps and bounds in a very short space of time. Agree with you on the Hankooks though, I would have them on my C2 but the V12 Evos are not available in the size.In my experience Hankook is a much better value for the money.
I the last few years I have covered nearly 150,000 miles on Hankooks with an average 20-22,000 mile tyre life.

They may well have (Nexen). I the last few years I have covered nearly 150,000 miles on Hankooks with an average 20-22,000 mile tyre life.
The V12 Evos are a great value tire!
I had Nexen CP641 (I think) on a Swift - rampant wheelspin in the wet part throttle second gear. ABS on everywhere.
I took them off with 6mm tread plus remaining as they felt dangerous. Put Kleber Quadraxers on and it was like a different car. I wouldn't have Nexens (of any model) again.

In 2013 they're 14th of 19: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2013-European...
In 2014 they're 14th of 17: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2014-ADAC-195...
I'm not saying they're bad tyres, they probably hit quite a good price point. There are however objectively better tyres

That second link is a joke. The tyre placed 16th in the rankings scored objectively better than the tyre they placed 8th?! That'll be because it's a brand with a snivelly reputation, so subjectively gets marked down?!In 2014 they're 14th of 17: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2014-ADAC-195...

No, I never have the same tyres on the front or rear, I'm not a tyre snob either, the car felt dangerous with them on, they had plenty of tread on them but they were binned, the op asked for opinions on them, I gave him my personal experience, they were s
t.
"I never have the same tyres on the front or rear" - why not? Is that on purpose or just happens? I always have the same tyre all round and on the spare.
