I'm pretty sure if my numbers came up, one of these would be one of the first cars that I bought but which one?

The Discovery has become almost as iconic as the Range Rover in its own way and is probably the roomiest of the three (useful for the kids and family). My best man used to work for a company that hired out 4x4s and I asked him if he might be able to borrow a Range Rover to drive us to the wedding. I was initially disappointed that he could only get one of these (shouldn't have been, as it was a free car) but actually it was really rather nice. Only available with the V6 diesel though but a decent spec one is a good 30k cheaper than a nice spec RRS or FFRR, which is a lot of money!

I wondered for years why Land Rover never brought out a 7-seater Range Rover. It seemed like madness but then the new RRS came out last year, which arguably looks better than the FFRR and has this feature. You can get the V8 diesel in it too but it comes at a cost. I would have one in metallic red!

I initially hated the look of the new Range Rover (really liked the L322 model looks-wise) but then I saw one in black the other day (with simpler alloy wheels than these, which I preferred) and it looked great! Also, it's lighter, faster, better handling and more economical than the last one too, so to complain is just silly and the interior is in a different league to the other two, so maybe it's the one to have? Very expensive though. Wouldn't be too difficult to spec one up to 100k I think!

Which one would you have, or would you choose something else?

New FFRR imo - saw one today on the M62 and it looked great.

Navy blue, small (for the model!) wheels, a splash of mud up the side and UN-tinted windows. Completely non-cheshire-spec, perfect. smile

All three are quite excellent, but for me it'd be the Discovery. You'd feel slightly less guilty about using like it was built for and messing it up! That said, it's long in the tooth now and so I'd wait for the new one that'll be along in a year or two.

Ffrr is the only car youd ever need...unless you need 7 seats then the disco 4 would be the best bet. The rear most seats in the 7 seat rrs are only for kids really.

New lightweight tech in the ffrr is awesome...Im getting an average mpg over 30. Not bad for a 4.4 v8 lump that can still be hustled around the twisties like something half its size when the mood takes you.

If it was a win of a million quid, I'd get the FFRR and Overfinch it. None of the silly bodywork, just the internal bits and bobs.

If I had children too, I'd get a Disco as the kid-mobile (only if I'm not allowed an XC90, of course).

Job jobbed.

Not sure Overfinch do any proper fiddling any more. I think it's all plastic stick on stuff and rims. For power/handling upgrades you'd be better off leaving it in-house for the SVR department.
