Sound's stupid, probably because it is, but I was looking at a 1982 BMW 635csi (sold on the idea of getting one) and I started to doubt whether I could pull it off without a thick 70's moustache.

Same with a Capri or an older Mustang, which in my opinion should only be driven by people with a 70's 'tash - and thick, visible chest hair to match.

Anyone understand where I'm coming from?

Trans-Am! We got a long way to go and a short time to get there . . . so there's no time for a shave beforehand.

Agree with all of the above, and I think all of them are driven by hairy chested, thick moustached men.. Except the RS2000 which seems to have attracted youths.. Think it's that RS badge. It should definitely require a moustache to drive though!

I can't grow one due to a scar on my top lip (hit by a cricket ball aged 14)... am I excluded from '70s motoring? biggrin

Some lush chest hair and a few buttons of your beige floral shirt should easily get you into the 70's motoring scene!

Austin Healey Sprite. I'd always expect to see Terry-Thomas driving one of them.
