Anybody out there got a current Leon with satnav? Picked my nice shiny new Leon up last weekend only to find late Saturday (after the dealer had closed for the bank holiday weekend) when playing with the toys that the satnav didn't work, or more to the point, wasn't there. A check around the car found the dvd-type box indicating it was the satnav, but when I opened it (note: no cellophane wrapping)it was empty, just a cutout obviously intended to hold an SD card.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, took several phone calls over Tues - Fri last week to finally get to the Service dep't and someone who new about these things, to be told that they need to take the car in for a day to install it (no loaner offered for the day, by the way).

Just how complicated is this satnav to activate? I envisaged turning up at the dealers, the service guy coming out to the car, inserting the SD card, pushing a few buttons on the display, and hey presto! So why do they need my car for a day? Anybody know?

No idea why they need it for so long but am looking at buying a Leon Cupra 280 for the missus as this car is really starting to float my boat.

I hear there are some good discounts on Leons at the moment?

This is of absolutely no help to you at all, but mine was all set up when i collected it.

I honestly cant see why they would need the car all day, it should just need the card putting in, at very most 5 mins plugged in to their computer?

FWIW mine is booked in this week for investigation of difficulty selecting reverse when cold, and the dealer (Chippenham motor company) immediately offered a loan car without me asking.

What spec did you get OP?

The description on the V5 is laughably long and full of acronyms, but in fact it's a humble SC 16Tdi SE. With regard to deals, I got the Tech pack (DAB radio, super-duper headlights and, er satnav) thrown in. Booked in tomorrow for the satnav install, and just to be clear, after a bit of encouragement they have agreed to lend me a car.

Cool, i have the 2.0TDI 150 FR with the same options. The nav is not too bad (except when it diverted me off the motorway and straight through Antwerp city centre!!!!!!!)

What do you think of the LED lights? I think they are absolutely brilliant smile

Fancied what you've got but didn't get one for two reasons:
1. It's my wife's car really and she didn't want a pocket rocket
2. Couldn't afford it!

Haven't had an opportunity to use the lights yet, will let you know. I should say that overall so far we're very pleased with it.
