Now that a few 2015 TTS posts are appearing online I was wondering what you all thought of the new model?

Autocar first drive review
TTS startup sound

TTS 'interactive cockpit' (these two videos are in German but you can get the gist of what they're saying while seeing the car in action)
TT First drive

Personally I really like the look of the car. I think the front end looks menacing and the interior is gorgeous. On top of that, Autocar are suggesting the TTS is good to drive. Put that all together and it seems a very competitive alternative to the M235i.

I'm going to reserve judgement on the exterior until I see one, but I think they've done a proper job on the interior - looks great.

Love the interactive dash, saw that this will be a feature in the new Passat too, so hopefully it will filter down into more VAG cars.

Looks good - definitely a giant leap ahead. I used to own a TT-S and looking forward to the TT-RS version.

Honestly? The pinnacle of tedious coupe design.

TT starting to look very dated now. Needs a redesign.

Great car for getting swiftly to your next hairdressing appointment wink

Inside is brilliant, especially the digital instrument display. Imagine 6 years time when you as the 3rd owner suddenly suffers from it failing. Cost?

But for a new buyer the inside is a saleman's dream. They will get lots of sales.

The exterior is like the new Golf VI or VII, same apart from something. It does make the orginal look even more interesting though. Proper design in those days from someone with some balls.

Funny you should say that, the new MX-5 is out tonight. Wonder how it will advance in design?

Looks nice and all, but i'd rather have the Golf R and the added practicality that comes with it. And if i wanted a sports car? I'd get a proper one.

Yes, it looks good and the interior even more so. It's even blisteringly quick in a straight-line. However, i just can't see it being engaging; i'd never get up early on a Sunday morning to go and drive it. As such, it's still in the camp on "car for the missus."

Did you know the TTS 75% based on your beloved "G7R"?

Changed your tune yet? wink

Looks good to me. Nice to see it previewed in a bold colour. I'm getting so fed up seeing dull, and unimaginative silver, grey, and black cars on the road.

I'm not a fan of the exterior. I know it's the look they were going for but they have literally taken the mk1 and made it look a little more modern. It is just so dull. The interior looks fantastic and very special, but why are they still fitting those rear seats? As others have mentioned I just can't imagine it being that great to drive, I'd like to find out if that's the case, but if I were buying a car of this type I'd want the compromised space, practicality, ride quality and so on to yield a much better driving experience than the Golf R and S3 with which it is closely realated. Otherwise I can't see the point. To me the M235i seems to be far better value for money.

Is a TTS a million miles away from a Golf R?

I have a feeling it'll be the better driving car...i can imagine the err... imagine on the lease deals in 2015!

They put those rear seats in because the tax rates for a two seat car versus a four seat car on import to the likes of USA is so much higher.

It sounds nice on startup but as soon as the revs climb you can tell its a 4 cylinder engine. I suppose it's just a Golf R in a slightly more sporty guise.

The TTRS should sound a load better if they put the 5 cylinder engine in it. But I'm guessing they will want a huge premium for it.

I think VW's strategy is to announce a new car, shift a load on lease deals while it's the trendy emerging model then dump another slightly more powerful/desirable car out there and repeat the cheap leasing. It's almost the car equivalent of Apple.

I'm guessing it will go GolfR->TTS->RS3->TTRS with plenty of £250/pm lease deals available that end just before the new exciting car comes.

That dash was looking fantastic until he switched to the 'large map' view - far too much information with the satellite imagery. I know if I was driving that, I couldn't cope with the cognitive load.

I also wasn't keen on the message it sent when the speed and revs became tiny dials with the emails in tiny text yet occupying the majority of the dash. People may forget they're driving...
