Big dent in alloy. Not happy. Don't know if it can be sorted or whether I'd be better off buying a new wheel?

Yes - check if buckled, clean out, tig weld and reface on lathe and paint.
£100 at a guess, as a std refurb would be around £60 - £70 at pristine wheels in woburn.

Thats not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Dont think wheel is buckled, no vibrations or problems with steering after it was done. Just more annoyed at the van that forced me into the kerb, just lucky he didn't hit the car really!

Can you not repair buckled wheels?

I handed back worse to Merc in May - 18" AMG alloy. They didn't even mention it.

Good to hear! Should have someone to look at it tomorrow, hopefully. Just another thing that's gone wrong this week!

Yes definitely repairable and I'd be surprised if you paid more than £70.

Bang on the money here! Took it to Chips Away, who quoted £70 for that wheel. Might get all of them done at the same time, for £250 it sounds alright. Unless Chips Away are not the people to go to?!

IIRC Chips Away are mobile? Can't see how they could do a good job.... Happy to be corrected.

I use either Spit and Polish or Lepsons , the latter being very good at repairs.

I think they might do mobile, but they also have workshops. I headed over to my nearest in Basildon today and had a look at some of their work. Seems pretty good, but as it's a new area for me I didn't know anywhere else or if someone can do a better job for the same money!

I'm not really bothered about cost (within reason), and I know it is just an ST, but it is my pride and joy so I like it looking smart. I did have a look for a new set of alloys, but they seem a lot of money for ones that are in the same condition as mine.

I suspect they are just using body filler rather than welding and refacing it. So ymmv.
