There are still some shocking cars out there, so go for it . . .
Forget the polls, which is your worst, which manufacture do you think is the worst?

Clio 182.
Looking at your car list the fact that the Clio was the 'Worst' comes as some surprise having driven some of the stuff on your list. biggrin

Was the Clio a Friday afternoon lemon?

a 2004 fiesta, there was nothing wrong with it, and it never let us down, but after the wifes cupra (sold it so the daughter could learn to drive, big mistake) it was horrid and gutless and so boring. only lasted 9 months thank christ.

It's a close call between a Jag X Type 2.5 and a manual B7 Audi S4 cabriolet.

Both were utterly awful cars to drive

A mk.1 Nissan Almera 1.4, bought in my youth when my old man convinced me I needed something reliable and cheap to run, and it was, but oh how I wished it would just die, or get stolen, or crashed....

Other than reliability I can't think of a single redeeming feature, or maybe it was just so dull I never noticed any.

Id say the rover 400 but it wasnt technically mine.

Reliability wise I think my impreza was worst, followed closely by the mx5 - both stranded me as well which I dislike.

My 172 in contrast to the above was impeccably reliable while in my care. The megane is doing pretty well so far too..

Worst in what meaning? For general problems and unreliability it would easily be my C70 T5, then again when it works as it's meant to, it's one of the best cars I've owned.

MK4 Golf 4motion. Tried to force myself to like it. Could probably have improved it with £1000's of aftermarket parts but just not worth it.

I've enjoyed all my cars. Worst was the Megane 1.5dci. However I still have fond memories off that. I feel a bit soft saying this, but for me a car is something that invokes memories. Days out with mates who have passed away, taking a girl out for the first time. Yep I've driven some dogs, but I enjoyed them all at the time.

In terms of reliability, my first Morgan Aero 8. It was completely rubbish. The current one is much better, but still has at least one expensive thing that needs sorting at the annual service every year. But both of these cars are so awesome that I just don't care.

The worst in terms of least enjoyable? 1976 Ford Escort 4 door, 1.3. Dog slow, awful to drive, thirsty as hell.

Another vote for the over-rated box of merde. Can I also vote for a Renault Scenic that was dangerously unreliable?

Notice a theme here?
And again. I can't tell you how much I hated owning my 182.

I didn't actually own it. I worked for Suzuki as a trainee Sales Monkey and my Boss decided driving this would motivate me and I would aspire to drive a Vitara, which I did.

I owned a fiat Uno. a complete Dog of a car. no guts but it was my first car and needed something cheap to insure. I've had worse reliable cars but all were fun to drive when they worked. but this was truely awful.

Ford Mondeo 2.0TDCI LX, when I finally rid myself of the pox ridden pile of crap the new owner said he liked mine/his because it was high-spec for an LX - I can't imagine the horror of what a basic one was like.

The garage I use told me no one buys a Mondeo like mine (2004 era and 9 years old at the time) for any reason than they have to, but they're great because the parts are so cheap! Unfortunately the worst thing about them is the parts are so cheap!

The thing would just self destruct, the exhaust fell off, the steering failed, the brakes warped, the engine smoked like a tyre fire, it stank like the floor of a stty nightclub. - Those sorts of things can be true of any old unloved car, the things that set it apart were the blindingly obvious crappiness of the replacement parts - didn't matter if you went to the dealer or some backstreet parts place they were just cheap and nasty looking - and yes the brake pads were actually cheaper than the pads for my mountain bike, you knew they'd last about a fortnight. The car actually came a huge box of bills for replacement parts and the seller told me that he and the previous owner had treated it like one of the family, within the 11 months I owned it I'd added a few extra inches to the pile, with it's 3rd exhaust, 2nd steering column endless brake pads and discs all on top of the original ones it was shat out of the production line with.

But by far the worst thing about it was the utter lack of joy about it, there was nothing nice about it, it didn't even have that cool machine of the people thing that other cheap cars have, you could never love it, but unlike other cheap cars you could never respect it either.

The interior was designed by a committee of accountants, it looked crap, it felt crap and it was crap to use, Fords are meant to be decent handlers for mainstream cars but this thing lurched about and somehow managed to fail to properly harness all the 125ps of power under half-throttle and would go everyway but straight - when I first bought it I 'floored' it coming down a slip road and almost lost control of it - I booked it straight in for an MOT and tracking etc and it came back with a clean bill of health! When I asked about the steering I was told "they all do that sir" The exterior was inoffensive apart from the smoke every morning and the "alloy wheels" were actually steel, the guy in the tyre place had to grind them to get the tyres to seal properly.

Whenever I see one now I expect the driver to be wearing black leather slip-ons with a tracksuit bottoms, his life essentially over, he's just waiting for the organic part of him being to stop so he can free his soul from it's torment.

Probably the Toyota Landcruiser I had for a while. It was dull and characterless and bought principally for its reputation for reliability.

Then it broke, expensively. Twice.

Fiat Coupe Turbo, still love them but mine was a nightmare, engine was screwed.

Metro GTI, rusty with worn radius arms, wanted it to die and to my eternal shame nothing I could do would kill the hateful little st, it just laughed and got faster, I bounced of the rev limiter for ages one day, full bore starts dumping the clutch at 6000 plus rpm, it thrived on it.

Golf MK3 1.8 CL, bought new, a very dependable, not a bad car but of so dull.

Ropey MK1 Golf GTI, in a fit of nostalgia I bought it, it went round me and a couple of mates and we all spent time and money keeping it as ropey as it was.

Rover 200 BRM, actually pretty good but the HG went, I fixed it and it turned out the liners had sunk.
