Tsukuba track battle: Time For Tea?

Well we could hardly bid farewell to Tsukuba without delving into the Best Motoring archives!

We all know Tsukuba. Very few of use have been or will ever actually go but Gran Turismo has made us all pros at the little Japanese club circuit. Moreover, thanks to YouTube, we have all seen some brilliant Best Motoring track battles on the 1.2-mile track.

With Dan back from his Tsukuba MX-5 adventure and already pining over video screengrabs and wearing his team footwear, we had to feature a Best Motoring video. But which to choose?

This episode was selected just for the variety of cars on show. NSX-R versus a tuned 370Z would make for a cool Japanese battle but there's Ferrari 360 against 458 also. Plus a Corvette ZR1. You know, just to add a bit of extra spice.

It's fascinating to watch the different apporaches to making a fast car. The older Ferrari is flighty and agile, the Corvette a lesson in monstrous power and the NSX-R puts on a very good show indeed. Until it gets blitzed by the Italia that is.

It would be great to understand what the drivers are saying but even without that this is a really enjoyable vid. Well done Best Motoring. Well done Tsukuba.

Watch it here.

Always love the Best Motoring battle vids as the commentator sound so excited despite Me having no idea what they are saying without subtitles.
They are also bias to the NSX-R and it does set a good standard to how other new cars compare as those that beat it are genuinely amazing cars!!!

Great stuff

Some English subtitled Integra/Civic focused videos:
https://www.youtube.com/user/miroshi/videos
Lots of fun 'racing' and geeky details just be aware that some of the stuff in 'Best motoring' is faked for the entertainment value. I guess most people know and it's not like it's a 'reality' TV show with no reality. biggrin
The only other English subtitled video I can find is this one on the original Integra Type R:

Edited because I forgot to add GT channel:

I've long enjoyed watching Best Motoring but it was always, always biased towards the Jap cars. They very often had race spec tyres and the best driver in them. When I see an NSX beat a F40, Porsche 993 turbo and other far better exotica I know something isn't right.

Yea they are biased but its still good to see cars being properly put through their paces without stupid top gear style "oh its a dead heat" finishes.

This one proves how mental they are!

And always good to see an F50 in action!

Few things are better to witness than the sound of an F50 at full chat.

After Best Motoring went out of business, we made some with a similar concept.

Well I guess that answers that certain type of PH poster who bleats on about the GT86 being too slow to keep up with a diesel 1-series! I know which car I'd take... biggrin

This is one of the best videos:

Even Keiichi Tsuchiya (drift king!) is a bit scared of how quick the Skyline is. And the Supra just sounds gorgeous

Love the RE Amemiya RX7s on the Touge. They're rediculously agile / fast.

Partly where my love affair with the RX7 started.
