Hi guys, the title says most of it. I'm looking for a powerful car for £7000 or less, an electric roof convertible would be nice but isn't too important. Also the newer the car the better. I've had a look myself and I've found:

Porsche Boxster 3.2 S 2003 for £6200

Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 AMG 3.5 2004 for £6200

BMW Z3 3.0 2001 for £4000

BMW Z4 3.0 2005 for £6000

Nissan 350Z 3.5 2008 for £4250

Those are the sort of cars I'm looking for, am I missing any?

Thanks, Andy.

Audi TT? Plenty of 225s and the odd V6 available for that money.

You'd get a N/A VX220.

You would, but the list the OP gave suggests he may not be happy with the spartan experience!!

True, but it does meet the requirements (except for the electric roof, which was optional). smile

Looks like you can get an E46 M3 convertible for that, too, although it might be a bit ropey.

2008 350Z for £4250, er, where from, usually 2008 350Z's are at least double that, £4250 normally gets you a leggy auto import from 2003 or something damaged.

It's on autotrader, I was just using that as an example really.

My CLK55 must be close, quoted at around 5s on 'the net'.

Can get one for £4k upwards.

Thanks for more options guys. The Jaguar XKR, Vauxhall VX220 and Honda S2000 have made it onto my shortlist.

It actually fits the bill for me; no complaints here.

A 2004 Merc E500 (with the 7 speed gearbox) would comfortably fit in budget and will do under 6 seconds to 60, however if you are looking for a convertible it probably won't be what you're looking for?

+1 Although the only way to get to 60 under 6 secs would be to drop the clutch at the redline!
