New C Class, opinions?
Discussion
Anybody got one?
Thinking of one as my next company car, due early next year, looking at an AMG premium. Been and had a look around the saloon but it would be an estate which is due out in November? Like the outside although it is hard to tell in a showroom I think. Loved the interior and the spec looks pretty good on the premium. Unfortunately it would be the C220 due to BIK reasons. Heard the 220 can feel/sound a bit rough?
For reference I've spent the last 2 1/2 years in a Octavia vRS TDi with the DSG gearbox. Really liked it and whatever I have next has a lot to live up too! The C Class would also be an auto. I've heard a new gearbox is due shortly for the C Class, anybody have any details on this?
Thanks in advance. Other options are 3 series m sport, A4 black edition, V60 r design etc.

I've just had one as a hire car for a return trip from the north east, to Windsor, and I actually liked it quite a lot.
Myself and a colleague, lots of heavy kit, some driving around when down there, and it returned 50mpg, which I thought was very good. About 650 miles in total.
Especially for a petrol.
A C180 BlueEfficiency iirc.

I would have said definitely no to the saloon. What have they done to the rear end!? But the Estate will probably look better so possibly.
The 220 engines are a bit loud and rough in comparison to the car as it's otherwise super refined. They are still decent and economical, but it is a diesel so personally don't mind the noise.
My personal choice would be a BMW; however, if you are on a budget with the company car, it's frustrating they miss things as standard to the Merc, in particular xenon headlights - but that's just me.

I really like the look of the estate and was considering one to replace my vrs estate maybe next year but i just couldn't live with the stupid bloody screen stuck on the top of the dash. Ruins a really nice interior!
Absolutely agree. Same with the BMW 3 series and the awful plastic screen stuck on top of the dash. Couldn't live with either of them.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
