Two Questions

If i sold my car at the middle of the month do i loose that period and does the buyer have to pay from the start of that month ?

If i sold the vehicle close to the end of the month and they received the paper work a few days in to the next month would i loose another month ?

It doesn't matter what day of the month you cash the tax in, you'll lose that month. The new owner will have to tax it from the 1st of whatever month they tax it in. From next month you must cash the tax in as it's not transferrable.

Most likely if the new owner needs the vehicle straight away it will have to be taxed from the start of the month(normally it would be taxed for that period)

If i sold it in the last few days of the month and the DVLA did not receive the paperwork until the next month would they take another month off me ? or is it from the date it was sold ?

If the new system is going to cost less will they be passing the savings to us ?

I don`t understand why they can not do it by the day ,its easy enough to work out .
