Cars with potential to redeem their bad start in Life

Seen my very first Peugeot 508 (estate) RXH and I really think it's a handsome looking car, which has corrected the awful "half tonne in the boot, tail on the floor" look of the ordinary 508 estate, in fact the 508 saloon has exactly the same look to my eyes, it's stance is just all wrong at the back. I've read a few reviews which sort of confirms why I haven't seen many 508 RXH's in particular the electric and manual gear change gubbins.
Jaguar S-Type. Initially it was weird looking, had a horrible interior, poor automatic gearbox and wasn't that great to drive. The 2002 facelift fixed the interior and the driving dynamics and the 2004 facelift turned it into a good looking car. The original pre-facelift cars now look awful but time has been very kind to the later cars.
I reckon the latest Ford Mondeo. When it was launched I wasn't keen on the back end but after its facelift it's now a great looking car, especially in the higher spec trim levels. I'm also going to add the previous shape Quashqai, the pre facelift models look so bland and dated where as the facelift models look so much better and could still pass as the "latest shape".
I think Giugiaro would disagree on this, pretty much every iconic car he designed was subsequently dicked about with by the manufacturer and ruined-
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT- extra headlights, cheesy grille and vinyl roof on the last 2000 GTVs.
Alfetta GTV, Alfasud and Sprint- Horrid plastic bumpers added to make them look "better".
MK 1 Golf- say no more
MK 1 Scirocco - see above
And it still happens, the Grande Punto is only just recovering from the "Evo" restyle in time to be killed off.
