Reducing wind noise when you're videoing while driving...
Discussion
Mods, I'd be grateful if you don't move this as this will get me more responses quickly. Thanks!
I've got a contour Roam 2 camera and when I mount it outside the car the wind noise just kills the video.
Are there any solutions out there?
The reviews I've read suggest that something like the micromuff (classic!) aren't much good at car speeds as it flattens and serves no purpose.
I've left this a little late, so quick answers would be awesome.

Just been playing with this myself. I didn't find any sort of muff affair made enough of a difference. I've ended up buying a cheapo ebay sound recorder (cost about a tenner, they're everywhere on there), and put it in the passenger footwell or glovebox. It means you have to dub the sound on afterwards, but short of a camera with a remote microphone (and not many seem to support one), I think it's about the best you can do.

they do little self-adhesive wind-cutters. I'm not suggesting you buy one of those, but it should give you an idea of how to do a DIY one. I've seen a chap with a little bit of sponge attached to his camcorder with double sided sticky tape. That sort of thing should do the trick
