Need new tie rods and the tyre place with hunter wheel alignment can get hold if first line items
But I've never heard of them

How do they compare to lemforder which I can get hold from eurocarparts?

This is for a 2008 BMW x5

I'd never heard of first line, but a google suggests that it is the company that imports Mann Filters supplying their own branded stuff.

Without any positive recommendations I'd still be dubious. Far too much far eastern tat about. Lemforder are a known good company who do are OEM to the manufacturers.

I'd be happy with Lemforder, TRW, Mahle, etc, but own brand stuff I'm cautious of.

Thanks

Decided to ask the place to get hold of lemforder ones instead

Is it an easy job?

BMW Indy said £50+ vat a side

Tyre place with hunter machine said £20+ vat a side

Tyre place said they can do it which would be more ideal as would get the hunter wheel alignment done straight after

What, for Lemforder parts? If so, then sounds like a winner.

On my Mk4 Astra First Line droplinks last 15k, water pumps 30k. Cheap though, so OK to get you back on the road.

First line stuff is mostly re-boxed stuff from a multitude of manufacturers from all over the world.
Ive had bushes, water pumps and other various parts in the past that are clearly oem parts that have had the makers brand and usually part numbers ground off or removed,I fitted a customer supplied part once that had a part number sticker simply stuck over the original bosch label.
so some of it is good quality but it`s pot luck.
Fuel parts stuff is the same.

First Line quality does vary quite a bit between different types of parts.

Their bushes are very hit and miss, but their track rods and drop links are actually quite decent. If available I'd still plump for Lemforder/TRW/OE supplier instead, but if you're stuck then it's worth it.

Oh, and things like thermostats etc (i.e. housings that they've cast and fit parts they don't manufacture to) are a good buy. I've just bought a thermostat for my Alfa 156 from them and it's indistinguishable from the OEM one, and the thermostat was Calorstat (the OEM supplier).
