Jesus, what is it with people being so defensive over their chosen marques.

I ask for help guidance and suggest that there might be a problem / design flaw with a car and i get flamed and no help whatsoever. What is wrong with people, its just a car and its flaws don't somehow reflect badly on you for also choosing this car.

Pointless rant over.

Ill get my coat !

That's not the way they take it though, as you've found. It's taken as an accusation that something is wrong with it, therefore (in their logic) they made the wrong decision in choosing it and by extension they are inherently wrong as a person and a lesser human being. I don't know if it's a natural reaction or if it only applies to those with chronically short tempers.

Its really rather tiresome. Oh well, hopefully i'll get a more helpful response on here.

Has anyone made that 'what car' applet for the site i suggested the other week?

I have over 15,000 posts on the TT forum and never found it to be like that at all.

In fairness I haven't really been on there for 3 years now so the "clientele" may well have changed somewhat since my day :-)

What is the problem by the way?

It happens in every walk of life. People will go a long way to defend their own brand of phone/computer/clothing/tv. If there is a a Fridgeheads.com I'm sure someone is over there now saying that anyone who chose a Beko over a Smeg is an utter moron and don't know what they're talking about
