I was going to post in Speed, Plod & the Law, but thought it was good enough story for all to hear.

Saw this story on LAD Bible - only just bee published so there's more to come. A driver of a red Vauxhall Corsa has been sent a fixed penalty notice. Asked for a proof, which they then went on to send him the photo of a silver Vauxhall Zafira. Has just sent a letter back to the Met.

Interesting to see what they come back to him with.

Just makes you think how many of us accept other peoples points!

What are the chances his registration is similar to the Zafira and an auto recognition system has got it wrong ? e.g. his is AB126 XYZ and the Zafira AB128 XYZ

He's not going to win any friends with his letter, but it is quite amusing!

No doubt they will drop the prosecution, but will they correct whatever went wrong and go after the Zafira driver, or has he got away with it too ?

Sometimes its the computer system fking up.

My mother ran a 30mph mobile camera a few years back. Along with receiving a FPN for this, she received a further two FPN's, one at the same time, and one a minute later. Turns out the next two cars behind her had been caught as well but the computer had given them all her reg.

She had to fight to get them wiped (although she accepted one)
