Best MPV Hire options

Next year we are getting married in France so need to drive over to carry a fair amount of bits and pieces which won't be possible to take on a plane. At the moment we have a 2.5 V6 Mondeo which is on about 170k at the moment, a Mk1 Audi TT and a VX220.
Looking at the amount of stuff we will have to take we will probably need a full fized MPV, something like a Galaxy, or a Sharan. The hire costs for these from all the usual hire places are pretty high, around £500 per month and many won't let you take it out of the country. Are there any other options I should be looking at or any good companies for this kind of thing in particular? The other option is to buy one and sell it immediately afterwards but that's a fair bit of hassle.

A guy I work with needed to hire an MPV for his summer hols to France, all the big companies said no to going out of the country. He neded up hiring an 09 Zafira from an independant hire place in Bradford.
I think you will need to look towards a similar smaller independant company.
I have tried a couple of smaller local ones but they were between £500-750. If that's what they go for I will hire them out myself!I think you will need to look towards a similar smaller independant company.

Alternatively, Mondeo plus huge roofbox - you can pick them up cheaply from eBay. Ugly and probably tatty, but at £80-ish, a lot cheaper than any other options.
