Especially when it is far more expensive than similar cars for sale!?

Do they think people see that and go "well if it is a bargain I best buy it and not look around at any other cars, after all, the seller wouldn't lie"......?!!?

Very poor ad writing along with "first to see will buy" and "reluctant sale" etc etc. The ones I like are the ultimatums when the seller says he's been offered a part-ex price and will trade it in if no offers above that price by a certain date. The car then hangs around for weeks at ever decreasing prices.

Well, you wouldn't guess from the price, so you'd need some clues.

Enticement only reasons , its flannel thats all. Generally speaking if it says the word bargain either in the main listing or used as a line such as `` this bargain ....`` its over priced or undesirable

Now the one that i always bite at and never ever get a response is `` not the usual rubbish``
Does this therefore state the cars arnt any good and that it takes someone of superhuman capacity for love to nurse this single only car through its present lifetime in a condition of still being useable ?

The one that winds me up is 'priced to sell'.

As opposed to what? Priced to not sell? Then why are you advertising it for sale .....

Exactly. That is what is most irritating. I almost want to e-mail them with links to better and cheaper cars......

"Cheapest one on Auto Trader" .... below ten other cheaper cars.
"£2,000 discount this weekend only!" ... the advert has been same price for weeks.

I always assume these types of statements, including "Bargain", mean "Don't expect a discount", which also means "Don't expect a call from me". smile

There's so many ways an ad can be bad.

Best ads are the ones which are 100% honest, you can tell from the way they have contructed the ad that they're telling he truth, no silly "First to see will buy" or any stupid phrases that they think will entice me.

Price -(Is it fixed or are you accepting offers)
MOT/Tax - How much left, possibly negotiable
Accurate honest description
Pictures (At least one of each side of the car + two interior shots)
Couple of lines about why you're selling

ITS NOT HARD

Nope, but muppets putting "Bargain" on overpriced cars still will be.
