Which trouble free convertible or coupe for less than £9000?
Discussion
After some man maths and finding out moving out of the parents house isn't THAT expensive, i have decided i can afford to ditch the Jag and get something a little more fancy and better to drive.
Criteria:
- Less than £9000, will be financed/using jag as part ex (don't want lectures on financing.. I'm a big boy)
- Relatively modern.. 2004+
- Less than 80,000miles
- Good to drive and quicker a lower than 8 second 0-60 time i think would feel quick enough for me to not get annoyed.
- Not unreliable with a long list of common problems, the only way my man maths has made this an acceptable plan is that the risk of a huge bill is very low.
ETA - Manual only, as nice as automatic is, the paranoia of them exploding dulls the experience.
Fire away :thumb up:

Volvo C70 T5?

By all accounts reliable and pretty quick, Not the most hairy chested convertible around but then again, what is?
E46 M3? Not desperately cheap to run, not as reliable as the Volvo, slightly rust prone and kind of dilute the M3 experience - but it is bloody quick

I like Volvos will have look into them. I feel the M3 would be too much of risk, if it chucks a big bill at me i would be screwed.

The PH classifieds search function is quite good for this sort of thing:

S2000 insurance is stupidly high for some reason. Had two mx5's and the MR2's abit too old.
MR2 roadster was made until 2006?Failing that a Z4 roadster/coupe? MR2 is a better car in most regards but I can see the appeal of a straight six, and the Z4 is pretty reliable (for a German car ;-)

Would like a Z4, most seem to be the 2.0.. What is it like? Don't mind lack of power really, i very rarely get the chance to stretch the Jags legs with traffic and cyclists everywhere.Failing that a Z4 roadster/coupe? Saab 9-3 Aero? You can also go a lot cheaper.
I have a coupe of 54 plate and really like it.
Parents just got a convertible 1.8T version and its good. Wouldnt want to go too far in the back with the hood down but nice enough and room for 4 is convenient.
