Recent MOT fail, I'm looking to buy the car stripped to a shell. No plans to restore the car, it'll never see the road again. Has an olde worlde plate on without restriction on transfer, but imagine I'll have chuff all chance of getting it off without an MOT.

Or is there a way?

Tried this years ago, and in short, no mot, no chance.

Hope you have better luck than I did.

So in order secure my old (1962) car's plate on retention, I need a current MOT and tax for it (neither of which it has).

Excuse my ignorance, but if I manage to retain the plate am I free to sell it to the highest bidder?
