I bet her excuse was the lights further up the road went green and she was watching those.

I've almost made that mistake myself. I was sat waiting thinking the lights were still red, not realising I was looking at the next set along.

Or they saw the other lights turn from green to red and just a little eager.

Jesus Christ. I wish I was more suprised about this one, but seeing how selfish, rude and impatient some people are on the roads I'm really not at all.

That makes it look really quite dangerous to be a binman, must have to be constantly vigilant for idiots trying to squeeze past.

I actually made that mistake my self when I was first driving about 8 years ago. The lights had gone red for someone who had pressed the button but crossed on green anyway because there was a gap. Obviously, I would have realised if there had been someone on the crossing. Definitely learnt from my mistakes that day....

Let me just put my flame proof suit on biggrin

I would hope there were prosecutions flying as a result of some of that - clearly endangering others furious

There are a set of lights in Sheffield that are notorious for this, two sets very close together with one set turning to green a good five seconds before the others. I must see at least three or four drivers a week set off too soon. For any locals they are the set at the junction of Europa Link and Shepcote Lane.
