Just remove the exhaust from the Cat-Back and you will have a seriously loud street demon - infact no, grow a pair of big ones and remove it from the manifold, man you will be such a b
h magnet in that car!!!Ignore the haters, they're all driving round in their 1980s jag in leather driving gloves, with tissue boxes on the parcel shelf.
The key to drilling the exhaust is based on three things:
1. Where in the exhaust the holes are
2. How big the holes are
3. How many holes there are.
You don't want to just drill anywhere - you'll get all sorts of weird effects, instead, pick your hole placements very carefully. For example, a small hole at the back of the system (further away from the engine), will create a sort of whistling, while eight larger holes closer to the manifold will sound more like a v8 (and if you'd rather it sounded more like a v12, then twelve smaller holes should do the trick). The larger the hole, the deeper the sound, but too many and you'll create back pressure, which will give a weird flame effect from the back of the exhaust as you come off the accelerator after a hard run. It'll glow a pale blue (depending upon what fuel you use). Also, be careful that you don't lace the holes directly underneath the bend in the pipe as it comes down from the engine - far better to take the system off and drill the 'top' face as you won't mess around with the compression so much that way.
Obviously, take it slowly - it is easy to mess it up and you'll end up with something that sounds like a jet fighter, but it'll be spitting flame all over the place - and no one wants that. Good luck.
